Teddy Exports is a Fairtrade export company in South India that has been using business to do good since 1987
ABOUT TEDDY EXPORTS
Teddy Exports was founded by Amanda Murphy MBE in 1987 in a small town called Thirumangalam. Inspired by the principles of 'Trade, not Aid — Business, not Charity', Amanda started Teddy Exports to provide better economic and educational opportunities for local people. We began with 5 employees making wooden massage rollers out of one small room. Today, we're proud to be a Fairtrade company employing over 550 people from local villages across three campuses around Thirumangalam. We make beautiful, high-quality textile and wooden products that are produced sustainably and ethically.
We produce a huge variety of textile and wooden products including everything from bags, scrunchies and aprons, to massage rollers, combs and furniture — available in various materials. On the textiles side, we work with jute, cotton (BCI, Organic or Fairtrade), juco, banana fibre, coconut fibre, bamboo fabric and much more. For our wooden products, we commonly work with beech, mangium, teak, pine and rubber wood, but of course we can always source alternatives.
Our creative team would work with you to develop your products, giving you the option to decide exactly which materials, colours, dimensions, embroidery and printing you want. We are always looking for the latest innovations to add to our product catalogue, so if you have any ideas at all, feel free to get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org

WHAT SETS US APART?
When we first began in 1987, our goal was to use business as a tool for social and economic development in the local community. To achieve this goal, we established The Teddy Trust. A percentage of the company's profits are put into The Teddy Trust every month to support a variety of local development projects.
